If you are looking for diversity in the housing market and a wide range of property to obtain on foreclosure, the state of Minnesota is not going to be your best bet. Most of what is available for sale here is in the southern half of the state near the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul and are located in small to medium sized subdivisions.

They are mostly newer to new construction so the quality will be good but you will find that the subdivisions were done usually by one contractor per subdivision, so they houses appear very cookie cutter and there is not much variation in floor plan or outside design.

There are some houses north of the Twin Cities area that have fallen into foreclosure, but they are by and large very few and far between because the northern part of the state is more of a vacation area. As such you find that a vast majority of homes there have been paid off for a long time and wince there is no mortgage on them, there is no fear of foreclosure.

If you are in the market for a nice, recent construction near a major and thriving metropolis area then you might be more than ecstatic about the lower portion of the state of Minnesota. You are still close enough to the wide-open spaces that you can reach then an a few hours time.

However if you are looking for property that is good for getting away and enjoying the great wilderness areas and a place to relax and enjoy outdoor activities. You will be hard pressed to find such areas on the Minnesotai foreclosures for sale listing.

You are likely to find some decent property near the Mississippi river as well since a lot of people located there and make the short drive into one of the cities for work.
